Operational & Non-Operational Airports in UK

December’s first week remained conclusively ‘not so good’ for many airlines. During the week, flights taking off from Edinburg and Gatwick remained the most affected. While disruptions continued at other airports including, UK’s hub airport London Heathrow that is a base for many International carriers. Flights to Africa’s important holiday destinations including direct flights to Cape Town, Johannesburg, Durban, Nairobi, Mombasa, Lusaka, Accra, Addis Ababa and flights to Australian cities Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide see most of the air traffic from UK in December Holiday season.

Snow Disruptions UK Airports

Today, Heathrow Airport is likely to face disruptions due to rerouting and rescheduling of other airlines redirected at Heathrow for landing.

Other than that flights to and from Spain due to industrial action by Spanish air traffic controllers are going to top up the disruptions all over UK’s international airports including flights to and from Heathrow, Manchester, New Castle, Luton, London City Airport, Leeds Bradford Airport, Glasgow, Gatwick, Edinburg, Bristol, Birmingham, Southampton, Stansted, and Belfast International Airport.

Due to poor weather in other parts of the UK delays and flight disruptions are predicted at Manchester International Airport, Newcastle International Airport, Luton Airport, London City Airport, Leeds Bradford Airport and Glasgow International Airport.

As Gatwick Airport and Edinburg are the most effected airports during this year’s snow and adverse weather conditions, the airports are still under risk of possible flight disruptions and cancellations.

All air travelers are highly recommended to make contact with their airline or airport to verify their flight’s current status before coming to airport.
